One of those mornings
Mar. 21st, 2025 09:48 So I'm increasingly unlikely to know exactly what day it is. The problem is increased if I don't have scheduled activities like pickleball. It is very easy for me to know what day it is if I have pickleball on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and a dog ranch on Tuesday and Thursday. In that case, only have to remember trash on Friday. Whatever it is I'm doing on Saturdays and Sunday. A nice structured life.
But the wind just been blowing too much and I've not been playing pickleball so my Monday, Wednesday, Friday or suddenly all up in the air and I did not realize for some time this morning that today was Friday and that Dana had a clinic appointment and I was the driver for that appointment since she's getting some kind of medication during the procedure.
I did figure this out when she yelled as she was leaving the door "ready to go?". I was not. But I quickly threw on some longer pants since it's kind of chilly out and rolled out with her and have now been sitting in the hospital waiting area as she gets a barium something or other while they look inside her and see what's going on.
Having figured out it was Friday from that interaction. I did actually look at the calendar and see that I have a lunch scheduled with the guy that took over much of my company's residential business. He and I have had lunch together every month or two now for years. Initially it was to help him learn the business. Now it is more just on momentum since we've done it for so long. But I'm supposed to meet him at noon and it's already 10:00 and I'm on the wrong side of town and Dana is not done.
So the schedule that I was unaware was even going to happen today. It's kind of screwed up already. And maybe irrevocably.
Such is life in the extremely slow lane where scheduling only one thing a day frequently goes awry.
