We went to the vet. I wanted to get him checked into the vet so his first visit isn't when we are really worried over something. It is a more expensive way to do it but I feel good that he's been checked over twice now by two different vets and all systems are go. He does have a yeast infection in one ear and a bit in the other. Driving him crazy but it is an easy fix and we've got the meds now. Other than that and a dental appointment he has with the shelter vet to have his tooth extracted, he's fine.

CAN WE GO HOME NOW? I'm BORED.

He continues to be the calmest dog I've ever seen. He did not get nervous in the car, did not get nervous in the vets, was just fine the whole time but for the 45 minute wait for the doctor. No entertainment. No treats.

He went outside this morning and came back in just as Toby went out so he turned around and shadowed Toby. The two of them trotting along side by side is funny. I think they are going to be as good friends as I was intending. We have shifted to open feeding. Just leaving dry food out all the time and they eat when they want. No other food. So far, so good. Toby has had food problems from the beginning mostly caused by Dana's anxiety. He gained a bunch of weight and has kept it on due to his not eating and then Dana coaxing him to eat too much.

With the dry food in a bowl there is no food conflict. There are two bowls but they both eat out of either and no growling or snapping or anything like that. So much better. And I suspect Toby will lose the couple of pounds he needs to lose.

They both slept on the bed last night. No conflict there which is pretty amazing. Toby resents me being in the bed much less another dog.

So $500ish bucks later I think we're all set on the canine front and Beaux continues to discover new cool things every day. He looks at me with that 'is this for real?' expression all the time.

Meanwhile, on the down side, I had an HEBB debit card that paid back pretty well. Since it was debit I transferred money periodically to keep about $300 on the account at all times. I was smart enough to now make it more as it turns out.

I have both cards now sitting on my desk. At no point did we lose control of them. At no point did we ever use them anywhere other than HEB. Someone operating from an address in Mexico:

charged my card. There are three charges and three out of country transfer fees. I filed a dispute today and then called them to be sure they got it. The guy that dealt with me did a great job. I'm only hoping it was recorded.

Then say they can take up to 3 months if they feel like it to return the money of mine that they lost. They have about two weeks before I file with the Federal Consumer Protection agency.

I think the real insult was that they sent me an email saying my card had been reported stolen. I kind of hit the roof over that. It was just a form email but the obvious implication is to blame me for the loss of my money when it is impossible for it to have been me. Or Dana. The only way that the money was stolen was a lack of security on the HEB side.

I kind of dumped on the guy on the phone and he did exactly the right thing. He completely agreed with my posistion and said that he was annotating my record to recommend that the emails be better worded and less accusatory.

Other than that, uneventful day.
