Pork chop with peach sauce

Pork chop with peach sauce

I love peach season. Found this recipe and had to do it. Simple and excellent. Grits and peas are my specialty. It was every bit as good as it looks.

I wouldn't have thought to serve it with grits! Good idea!

Peaches are getting mealy around here though so I think I'll have to sub in apples :/

We import stone ground grits from South Carolina and they are truly a treat. They take a long time to cook right so we don't have them all the time.

Apples would work too. The spices make such a difference. Not just the sweet peach but a bunch of other flavors that would work with apple.

I've never encountered grits in person. What do they taste like?

Well, when we make them they have garlic in them. And we make a creamy version with a lot of milk added over time. Most people don't bother. The taste is pretty mild. Google suggests it tastes like a mild version of cornbread. Maybe.

Hard to picture it being cornbread-like with that texture, but I think I get the general idea — thanks! Your sauce looks delish.
