Back to the dogs

I've got dog duty today at 2 for a couple of hours.  It doesn't seem like it should be tiring but I'm exhausted by the time I'm done.  Part of it is I do walk them a lot but part of it is I just am so used to calm and quiet and routine that it doesn't take much to throw me off my game.

This is Huck

Huck was, I'm sure, a live wire when he was younger.  He's pretty quick and active now and I'm sure he's got a few years on him.  Like my dogs he was a big ball chaser.  Not a ball retriever, just a chaser.  

The ranch has a couple of closed in pens where you can take the dogs off leash.  I'd never let him off anywhere else.  He's way faster than anyone at the ranch and has a mind of his own.

But, like all the dogs, he is always up for nuzzling and lots of hugs and petting.  It is amazing how much they trust people.
