Spring has sprung

It is 83 degrees outside right now with the sun out so it feels hotter.
I cut the weeds. This time of year weeds are what we get. The grass comes later and chokes them out. So I chopped down the weeds and dropped weed and feed so we'll have some time when the weeds aren't doing well and the grass is just getting going and then it will be fine.
I walked about 4 miles today not including what I did cutting the grass with the mower and weedeater and I feel good. My back has really rallied and only feels tired as it should. Tomorrow may be different but I'm hopeful.
After running around with Hemi last week when I was at the Ranch I decided that I needed some more activity. So I signed up for a pickleball course. Four group lessons and, obviously, an intro into the structured groups that play at the Georgetown Tennis center. I played tennis for about 45 years but my arthritis stopped me from playing any more. Pickleball is a game that requires a lot less movement, smaller court, and much less arm and wrist strength. Kind of a cross between playing net at tennis (front half of the court) and playing ping pong. So we'll give it a try and see how it goes. I need to move and that will do it. I've got five days a week that are completely open.
I'm pretty sure that we're done with winter. Maybe there will be a cold day or two but my guess is we won't see freezing weather again until next December. I used to not so much like the hot weather but my shorts are standing by and I'm ready.

Date: 2023-02-26 15:57 (UTC)I've been watching a lot of clay court tennis this week, since I'm housebound. There is something miraculous as to how Carlos Alcarez moves on the court. I've seen him reach balls I've never seen anyone else reach and make a winning shot!
