The only television weather forecast I ever see/hear is on Long Island News Channel 12, and the weatherpeople there always refer to it as the "futurecast." Drives me nuts.
Your approach to packing for an eight day visit is the same as mine for a two week trip to Europe. Nobody is going to see me more than once or twice, to notice that I am wearing the same clothes over and over. And I do NOT want to check a bag if I can help it.
