It is weird to see the reality of what this report states:

Capture

We live in the Georgetown ETJ (extra territorial jurisdiction) which means we have the Georgetown address but that's about it.  No services or benefits.  But we do pay Georgetown sales tax which is higher than the surrounding area.  So we are residents of Georgetown, the fastest growing city in the US.

We also border Leander.  Number 4.  I can throw a rock and hit Leander.  In the early 2000's there was an ETJ land grab and the county seat of Georgetown grabbed this area despite it being a hundred yards from Leander.

We do not get services from either municipality but actually belong to the county sheriff for security and a different municipality for EMS and fire.

It is all about sales tax.

Bottom line here is we watch new houses being built every day, new developments started every couple of weeks.  It is a weird process to see.  I used to ride my bicycle on nearly empty roads now choked with morning traffic.  We actually have commuter traffic jams here and the build out is maybe only 25%.  There is still a lot of land around.  Not a lot of water, but a lot of land.

The infrastructure is taking a beating and will continue to do so.  I'm sure there is a lot of planning but the pressure of so much money in the hands of developers has to be extraordinary to those who want to somehow control the density.

Other than making it harder to get to pickleball and the Dog Ranch it is not too much of an issue.  So weird to see cars backed up for a quarter mile waiting for the traffic lights to change.

... oh, it says extra territorial jurisdiction, not extra terrestrial jurisdiction.

With your weather, you could invest in a E-cargo bike (or two) and beat the traffic all the time. It could even get you to pickle all and the dog ranch no problem. Zoe could ride with you for vet appointments.
