My wife and her aunt conspired to give me enough that a new pair of Hoka shoes was within economic reach.  I quickly go through the most expensive running/walking shoes for non professionals that I've seen. I walk every day, sometimes a lot, with the dogs and it burns through shoes.  I get Hoka shoes to keep my knee and feet problems under control.  They work well but are about $165 a pop.  I get two pair and alternate them so they are completely dried out between wearing.  They are absolutely the best shoes in the world for me.  So now I've got a new pair on the way partially paid for with Christmas money.

AND my wife bought me a gift certificate to get my feet pedicured.  I've only done it once but she's got this place she loves and I really do need it.  I should do it more often and may do so if this place works out.

The ribs were good.  And still are.  And will be.  I made lots.

Smoked two different types.  Back ribs and St Louis.  The latter were much more flavorful.  It was a good experiment.  The cost of each was the same and next time it will probably be different but I'll double the St Louis ones next time.

And apropos of little other than I really need to say it, we watched some of 'Leave the world behind' and it was awful.  Someone clearly loves it but it is a self centered LA piece of crap with the worst sound track I've heard in my life.  Someone say WAY too many Alfred Hitchcock movies and missed the point of suspenseful sound.  Any part of the movie that didn't have a crap hip/hop track running in it was filled with "LOOK AT MEEEE" suspenseful background sound.

We lasted 45 minutes which was easily half an hour too long.
