Zoe is doing much better.

Yesterday I gave her a whole trazadone. It took a while but it did its job. Maybe a little too well. Zoe was kind of zonked. So this morning I started her out with a quarter of one with her breakfast and another quarter an hour or two later.

No wandering, no panting. More of herself.

I think we've got the answer. Either Dana and I take a trazadone or Zoe gets one. Or part of one. It does take better than an hour to kick in but the effects are long lasting. So we'll just work on the timing to get it right and minimize the amount of the drug while still keeping her from going into anxious phase.

I tried the poached egg in the microwave with mediocre results. One undercooked, one overcooked. I used a two cup pyrex measuring cup so I think that might be the wrong. Or I used too much water. One site says to cook the water first then do the thing.

I've applied for a second mortgage so I can buy another dozen eggs and work on the technique.

This is day two of recovery. The only walk was with the dogs maybe to be repeated later. It is a nice cool day. Tomorrow is pickleball again. I may drop Wednesday. By Friday my back is hurting and I don't enjoy the pickleball as much. I think I'm doing a bit too much and need a mid week day of rest. Maybe it is still hold over from being sick.

I'm all about staying away from people as much as possible. Texas is a red flu state and I REALLY don't want to do that. Not that I'm looking for a concert or anything. The movies, if we decide to go, are set up so that there is plenty of space and plenty of air movement. Same with restaurants (valentine's day AKA our anniversary.. a required dining out gig). But I'm not doing any other group activity. And not really missing them, btw.

i think the microwave poached egg thing is very personal and totally dependent on how you hold your mouth.

Glad to hear Zoe's enjoying life more on drugs. Fifteen is pretty impressive.

Flu, and now measles. I'm of the age to have had both types of measles when I was a kid and I'm guessing you did too, but those poor kids. The hospitalisation rate in Texas has been horrendous. They're paying for their parents' stupidity.
