When we were young... really young.. we were slave labor for the Hanes company.  We would go to a hotel and change into pajamas (new ones, footed, they smelled and felt wonderful) and had our pictures taken for the next catalogue.  All the kids of the Hanes execs did it.  It was fun and Hanes has some really nice pictures.  susandennis has some and has put them out here before.

So I was pulling out a tape measure to get Toby's chest girth for a seat belt harness and grabbed a cloth tape measure. I'm sure this one came from what would not be called swag.  Back then it was just stuff lying around we could have. 

When I turned it over I found:

This is an antique.  It has directions for fitting your customer with a union suit.  So many memory triggers with this one tape.

OMG. What a find. That's the coolest thing ever. And look at the stitching on that cloth tape. That sucker has about 894 things special about it.

I don't have any of those Hanes catalog pix, alas, but I have the same wonderful memories.
