A wife and three dogs
Dec. 29th, 2022 15:26Dana returns in an hour or so. Toby will be crazed. He misses her so much. And a couple of weeks of being a bachelor is enough for now.
There's a great Stephen Stills line from Suite Judy Blue Eyes about losing a loved one: 'Nobody left to please'.
I had a massage yesterday and it really helped this morning when I got up. Of course, then I walked five and a half miles and was pulled by dogs and by the time I left the Ranch I could hardly walk. I rested a bunch and am better now. Sleep tonight will get me back where I need to be. Healing my back is getting really annoying. It is still getting better every day but still is sore and stiff even when it is doing well and down periods during which I'm in a lot of pain. It doesn't help that I can't take NSAIDs. I live on Tylenol and Baclofen.
I walked a dog I'd never walked before:

His name is Kayla. He's a sweetheart and wants loving as much as treats. I'm not a huge husky fan but he's OK. A few weeks ago I helped someone put him back in his apartment and he proved what a sled dog can do when he wanted to get at one of the other dogs in an adjacent compartment. Today I returned him to his home using the back door where he didn't have to go through the gauntlet of other barking dogs. No pulling.
And on my way out I hung out with the littles for a while. Here are George and Ethel.

They weight about five pounds TOGETHER and stay in the same apartment. This write up on FB: https://www.livinggracecanineranch.org/residents/george-%26-ethel
They were happy dogs today. I stayed with them for a while on my way out.
