Banking and spring
Mar. 23rd, 2024 09:12It was a lovely, cool morning. I wrapped up in a blanket and took my book to the porch for coffee. It is my favorite time of year. Likely it will only last for 10 minutes but makes me love it all the more. The canines and I will head out for our walk in a bit. Then quick mowing the grass. It rained enough that the fertilizer I put in was effective so I'm going to cut it short while I can and before it turns brown. Then likely a bike ride, a habit I'm working on. Short, 40 minute rides.
I went to Chase yesterday to cancel the checking account I'd had for three days. The branch lady was very nice and gave me the cash that I'd put in. The purpose of having a local bank is so I've got a place to deposit cash, not get it. Sigh.
Anyway, Chase is done but for my credit card. Just too institutionally secure. Robots and not dependable.
BUT the reason for this whole idiocy was that my CU was not showing up in Tiller. Not connecting. It is now connecting, as of yesterday, but not downloading. Halfway there. Of course it was on a Friday and Tiller won't even look at the downloading problem until Monday. But, again, I'm hopeful. If it works and I get all the downloads I'll clean it up and change nothing for now. I may look at a different bank, a more local company by the name of Frost but will never do it online again. That is appealing but If one of the half dozen major banks can't do it right then it is not worth messing with.
Otherwise, it is a quiet day with just me and the dogs. Dana is off with her Gem and Mineral group doing a lunch on a rock somewhere. All is quiet on the western front.
ED: Just discovered this was not posted. But the day was as described but for the addition of a nap, just completed.
