Things change
Aug. 20th, 2024 10:45I was really tired last night after Carlos had kept me up Sunday night. And, of course, I ended up looking at the clock and it was 10 and the Dem Convention was still running, no sigh of Biden (isn't it past his bed time??). So I hit record and went to bed.
And slept for three hours dead to the world. My deepest sleep, didn't even need to check any tracking to know that.
Then slept a normal night's sleep so I'm mostly caught up.
I like my routine.
The Ranch has made some major changes. The original group running the place was three sisters. They were hired by the owner in the beginning and really brought up the place instituting the processes from ground zero. The youngest of the three moved on a couple of months ago and in the past week the other two are gone. It creates a pretty big vacuum that is being filled by new hirees. I only recognize one person working there now.
But the dogs are still there and we just do our thing.
Someone in a house was a hoarder and had 30 or so dogs there. The Ranch took maybe eight puppies and are helping redistribute them. Puppies are fun but a PIA to care for so it was a bit of defecation filled chaos today. Two of the big dogs had been relocated to a facility that trains service animals. One of them, Kai, is deaf and will be taught sign language so he can be a service animal for a deaf person.
That left two open kennels which were filled with puppies.
I did what I always do. Walked my friends.
Fortunately change or no change, they just need me to come, get a dog, and take it outside to do what we do. So I can ignore what is going on for the most part and just do my bit. The dogs love having someone they know be there.
Dana bought me a massage for my birthday and it is scheduled for a couple of hours from now. Plenty of time to shower and eat and whatever.
One very minor cloud. I got back blood test results and my lipid panel was back up to just at or slightly outside of optimal. So I'm taking Repatha and had stopped Crestor to test if I still needed it. I do. I could get on without it but the current recommendation is low as possible LDL and HDL so I'm going to start taking it again. No side effects and it is cheap so it is OK. Not at all worried about it. My arteries will be happier and I'll be way better off with open blood flow. All worth it.
