Outlaw, the dog that was rescued during the hurricane a couple of months ago, took what will likely be a one way trip to the vet this morning. From the description it sounds like intestinal cancer. At least he was loved at the end and cared for by the Ranch. It is what they do.
The other sad thing is the couple who were hired, the guy recently out of prison and his wife, left saying it wasn't for them. I don't know and will not ask about the whole story but it only worked out for a month or so. Very sad and, I'm sure, incredibly stressful for the woman and group that runs the Ranch. They had it all figured out and things were doing so well.
I did my job. Got there, walked the dogs.
The dogs were fine. We had fun. It wasn't too hot.
Today is plumber day. Sometime. They gave a window of 9AM to 6PM. While I understand they can't be specific it would be nice to say 'you are third in the schedule' or something like that. Fortunately we do have water in most of the house and nothing much to do. And two of us.
I've got a bunch of stuff to do that requires me to sit still and do it. Good day to wait.
At some point we both need Covid vaccines and flu vaccines. I was going to wait until the fall but I think we might be there. I'm not sure the latest vaccine is available. Actually next trip to HEB I'll stop and find out. They have easy registrations so once I'm sure they have the right one I'll get us both on the sked.
