There are too many people around here.  I go to Seattle and am reminded of population density that we don't have here.  But we are trying so hard to fix that.  Just driving anywhere now is hard.  Someone has an accident on a road between my house and the doctors office and traffic stops for miles.  This is on a road that, in 2008 not long after we moved here, had not a single traffic light.  It was 15 miles of open five lane road.  Now it has a dozen lights and is packed with cars.  Same road, same five lanes, twice the number of people.  Maybe more.

We are just north of Austin and south of Austin is worse.  But there were cows in the fields here not that long ago.

The up side, of course, is that our house value rose significantly a couple of years ago and has retained its value so it is all investment.

It is worse with school out.  Everyone has to get that one more thing at the store.  I'm on the schedule to play pickleball back towards the density at 1PM and am not looking forward to the drive.  But I need the movement.  Once that is over I'll happily stay in the house.

We were down to one bag of coffee beans.  Well, one and a half bags.  And they are five pound bags.  But coffee is my toilet paper.  Today we got an email announcing 25% off on what I think is the best coffee in the world.  I bought three bags.  Should do us for a while.  Works out to about $7/pound.  A great deal from a company that puts a lot into ensuring the people who work the land get paid.

No significant thanksgiving around here.  We have the requisite turkey and stuffing but no plans other than that.
