Closing down the city
Feb. 17th, 2025 12:15The Georgetown area is basically closing from Wednesday through Friday. The Ranch is closed to volunteers since most of the dogs (huskies excluded) can't take the anticipated temp in the teens. I've got driving duty for Dana on Thursday anyway as she gets one of her steroid shots in her hip.
The person who schedules pickleball scheduled for Wednesday (high of freezing) suggested delaying it. I suggested March. My limit in PB now days is the same it was on the bike, 40 degrees. I probably should add the stipulation that it is 40 with wind chill.
So I'm not playing until next week at the earliest.
I'm likely going to head out on my bike today in a bit. It is 51 and sunny. A nice day and I need to move some.
I've been working on a site and app called brilliant.org. It is a site that trains in math, geometry, logic and scientific method. It makes the learning fun and slowly builds from very simple to fairly complex. I'm in the middle somewhere but loving it. My brain is a bit mushy after spending the morning learning linear equations or something like that.
I'm always looking for something like this site to work my synapses a bit. This is a good way to do it. The lessons are just a few minutes long each and there are a lot of positive motivators.
Forgot to hit send on this entry. I did go out on the bike for a short ride. My legs are still pretty weak so it is going to take some build up to do much more than a couple of miles. But it was still nice.
