We have a wind spinner in our back yard.  Here is what it looks like during the day:

We've had it for 20 years or more and periodically we take it down and grease it and Dana repaints it.  We try to keep it greased enough so it doesn't make too much noise but I can tell when the wind is blowing by the noise it does make.

In all that time I'd never thought of taking a picture of it against the night sky.  Dana did just a couple of days ago when the sky was clear and the stars were out.  It is not retouched amw and is just a Pixel photo.

Other than that it is a quiet day.  We did our Zoewalk and I cut the grass and it is not yet 80 (26+) degrees yet, but almost.  Headed to near 90 so I'm done outside for the day.

I love it! We've got a spinner but when the fence was blown over a few years ago it snapped a spoke off. It still works (I can see it spinning right now) but it is now unbalanced so it doesn't work so well

This one is actually six pieces threaded on a crossbar. It is welded pretty well and has stood up to all the winds thrown at it for years. I suppose one day it will start to fall apart. I'll have to take it down if any pieces come off. Too dangerous for our neighbors. But I think I'd find a welder and get it repaired. It is an old friend.

Love the spinner, and the night time shot. We've got a few small toy windmills in the garden, but nothing like this.

That's really cool! It's doing well to have lasted that long too, although it sounds like you're pretty nifty on the maintenance . I'll look forward to seeing the video when you shoot it.
