Summer in the city.

I was hearing Oliver's Who will buy today.  Walking in the city is anonymous bliss for me and I hardly ever get the chance.  But today was perfect for it.  I took an electric scooter to the top of the hill above Pike's Market and walked back to [livejournal.com profile] susandennis from there.  Downhill.   I still get credit.

The temp was about 71 with a cool breeze off the water.  It was perfect outside walking weather.  Me and a few hundred thousand of my closest friends were hanging out.

There were so many more people than this would seem to show.. but they were all moving. Couldn't get them together for a picture

In case you were wondering who Jesus was.. just come to Seattle and they will explain.

A very few people wore masks.  No one made fun of them (aka — not in Texas).

Really.. no one in here wore masks

Everyone not walking around was in a car jamming the streets.

And what would a city walk be without a wedding party

And what would a city walk be without a wedding party

There are generally two types of people in a city.  Those who have their Apple ear buds in and are talking on the phone and those who talk to the ether without an earpiece.  Those of the latter persuasion have taken up much more sidewalk real estate than they used to in Seattle.  A holdover from last summer and the past year.

Maybe another roll and stroll tomorrow.

yum, salted caramel ice cream!

71 with a light breeze sounds like perfect walking weather to me too!

Also good to know that Jesus is weed! My catholic school education never explained that!

Yeah, downhill is steep enough to count for steps. As long as you don't use rappelling gear.

Extra credit. Downhill (or down the stair-steps) is harder on the knees, even if uphill seems a harder push (or "lift.")
So I reckon you get extra credit.

71ºF sounds perfect walking weather and it looks like you made the most of it. So many people though!

It was a little weird being immersed in humanity again. But a city human jam of people is different. No one knows, cares, or mostly even notices me. Other than the homeless on the streets. They are watching.

No one knows, cares, or mostly even notices me. I love walking around busy city streets for exactly this reason.

The anonymity of crowds. Yes.

Thanks for letting us see Seattle through your eyes. I immediately recognized all of the spots in the photos. It does make me sad to see homeless everywhere ... reminds me of SF the last time I visited there. I'm glad Susan and you are having such a good time!
