I kind of revel in being in my late 60's.  It is a victory of sorts.  Every day a personal best.  It doesn't hurt that I have as near zero commitments as I can arrange.  I love looking at my empty calendar.

Dana, on the other hand, hates it when I talk about being old.  She has acquired all the baggage that old is bad.  Wrinkles (which she does not have) are terrible and you should not talk about it.

Diametric opposites.

But when it came to birthdays (her 65th is Wednesday, don't tell anyone) she said she wanted one of two things.  The first would be a strand of pearls.  She has, literally a stand up file cabinet of jewelry.  She has more jewelry than all previous women I've ever been associated with combined.  She loses and then finds more jewelry than most women I know.  And, by the way, we don't often go to the opera so pearls is kind of out even if I had more money than I knew what to do with.

Second choice was a safety bar mounted in the shower.  Now that's the woman I married!!

We've been talking about it off and on.  I've done the research of how to mount a bar through ceramic tile into a wall with studs in the wrong place.  Turns out that baby boomers have come through again and there are mounting systems that are pretty foolproof.  One in the shower, one in the bath tub.

My job today is Home Depot for the materials.

Better than pearls by far.
