In the category of so far, so good, my shoulder began its journey from being something I had to be careful about to something I'm building up.  But for a few things such as hold a weight out to my side, pretty much any weight more than my arm, and putting weight on my arms out front such as pushups or riding a bike, I'm nearly healed.  My deltoid (which I suspect had to be cut through or pushed apart like a drape to get to the top of my humerus) still gets annoyed by too much work so I'm a bit careful of it but now I'll try anything.  If it hurts like a sharp pain rather than a pain typical of any workout I pull back and assess.  But otherwise I'll do anything, move any way I want.  The feeling is rather nice, like a good stretch.

My appointment with the PT went well.  I think she's about 15 years old but than kind of thing happens a lot now days.  Children running the world.  And she was late.  My appointment was for 3 and started at 3:11.  No acknowledgement of being late or apology or any apparent reason why.  So I was pissed off to start.  I have zero tolerance for someone who does not value my time equally with their own.  Years of theater and military experience they don't have.

But once she started it was pretty efficient.  She did the measurements of range of all kinds of motion.  Then did some muscle massage of my deltoids and measured some more.  I need to move more, stretch more, pretty much stop favoring the shoulder.  Fine with me.  Then she gave me some exercises.  Nothing radical.  Latex bands to pull.  Arm lifts with or without 1 pound weights.  I've done without so far and it has been plenty.

The big reveal was a link to an app that connects me directly to the PT location and my therapist.  It loaded up with the exercises she gave me on paper (for the last time.. no paper needed now) complete with video examples, goals and tracking that presumably gets reported back to her.  So I've got accountability built in and no questions about what I'm supposed to do.  Such a huge progression from anything I've done previously.

Now I'm tired and need to rest my shoulders.

Did she give you the 11 minutes back at the end of the session?

Yeah. Seems like I'd get it back in email or something. Nice thing was it was an efficient session and only took half an hour. Plus next one won't even be that long I don't think.
