Typically I'm interested in the commercials and the half time show and am nearly always interested in the game. I'm glad the hip hop community is getting their show but am happily white and old and a curmudgeon and not hip or hop. And not crypto. So the halftime show and the commercials will pass me by. I can focus on the game.

I was at a Super Bowl party a few years ago and was consistently annoyed by the loud, totally off point conversations during the game.  Already knowing that I'm not much of a gathering person I now realized that I'm one of the few who really like to focus on the game.  Turns out I'm weird.

I also used to enjoy the commercials but apparently this year they are all bought up by gambling and crypto syndicates neither of which interest me.  Fortune favors the people who talk you into giving you their money.

Dana is patient and doesn't mind that I don't want a gathering.  We'll be home and I will find other things to do including cooking her a steak.

I hope you aren't in the least apologetic for being a curmudgeon. I happen to like curmudgeons. I wanted to be one when I grew up but my parents involved themselves in my development ("As the twig is bent, so grows the tree") and these days I have little or no hope of achieving that goal. Too old. Too set in their ways.

Some things to do, and then I'm going to sit down this evening and enjoy this game tonight, too. 😉

Funny thing about my personality. We went to the movie on Friday and I sat next to a mirror image of me. He was clearly a curmudgeon too. We did not acknowledge each other. It was all I could do not to laugh out loud. For the most part I enjoy watching myself.

I get being a sports weirdo.the only popular sport I pay any attention to is World Cup football and the Olympics. Even for the Olympics, I mostly care about the obscure sports that never get mainstream coverage, and those played by women (also rarely getting any mainstream coverage).

I'll be watching programs I've DVR'd tonight. I'll check the Super Bowl score from time to time this evening, but with temps below zero, reading sounds like the best idea. I can watch The Olympics instead, too. I haven't enjoyed a Super Bowl halftime in years. Plus, I still don't understand crypto currency and bit coin. Sounds like made up money.
