All Imported

So now I have all my entries going back to the first one in 2010 so I can ignore them as I did while they were on LJ.

Today and tomorrow are going to be mostly sitting around not enjoying the brief return to winter. Fortunately it will be brief and we'll be back to shorts come Monday.

Yesterday was really fun with the dogs. My favorite pair of Tommy and Shadow were in good form and we all lay down in the sunny field and rolled around on our backs getting dried grass in our hair. We growled a bunch and at one point Tommy howled for a cookie which he got after which we rolled some more in the sun.  I wish there were a way for me to get a picture of the three of us.  From my perspective it was all fur.

Finally, as you can see, I figured out how to put a picture in the entry.  NOT the way it says in DW help.  Much easier.  Upload picture to DW media.  Right click on picture and copy media address.  Click on Insert Image and paste the URL.  This is in Chrome but it is that easy.

I continue to find web sites and web work to be unnecessarily complicated.  This is a major victory for me.

Is the DW media import a different page? I found I had to use their image uploader page, which isn't as slick as LiveJournal. Initially I assumed I wouldn't be able to uploaded anything on the free version, so it's good of them to allow that.

Upload Images is what I'm using. It creates an HTML link but I could never make that work. So I tried just right clicking and copying the address and it worked just fine. The storage is limited but since I've got all the pictures in Google Photos I'll delete the old ones as I no longer need them and free up space. Or maybe pay for an account one day.

So far the links have been fine for me. I've tried the whole link with ahref it gives in the HTML code, and also used just the image in the rich text image toolbar button. I do find the two different editors odd though, in that things I've done don't always seem to be saved.

Yay! I'm glad the import has been working for people lately.

It's supposed to be rainy here for the next few weeks. I'll take that over snow though, I am so ready for Spring.

Ohh, that's a smart way to do it. I'm happy using Flickr since it reminds me I need to upload pictures I've taken, but that's really handy info to have! Thanks for sharing.

Haha exactly, I finally have my entries since 2017, when I first set up my account here, imported, and my sense of relief is ridiculous given the number of times I ever look back at previous entries (that number is 0). That sounds like a spectacularly good day with Tommy and Shadow.
