It took FOREVER

My slicing equipment got here. I don't have any bread to slice but figure I'll fix that in a day or so. It is a great concept well executed. I ordered it at 9:15 and got it at 15:15. Six hours. Not much longer than it would have taken me to make the bread.
Which I'm not eating much of at the moment. Yesterday, I weighed in about 2 pounds over the maximum I will allow myself. It is just water and has gone down a couple of pounds today but I thought I'd take the opportunity to shoot for my real goal which is 13 pounds less than I was yesterday. It is way less than the WW 10% so it should be doable. But I plateaued at 210 and never went much below that. So we'll see what happens now.
I've never gotten any good with My Fitness Pal and Noom removes their most useful tools when you don't pay. So I'm testing Lose It. I just really need a good calorie counter with a solid database that is easy for me to use. If it integrates Google Fit, then fine. Lose It does that. And gets all kind of points for already having my Dinnerly meal from last night in its database so I just cut and pasted it and voila! it was there. I haven't checked today's meal yet. But I will go back to what I was doing on Noom. I eat breakfast and enter it into the counter. Then I enter what is on the Dinnerly menu for the evening. The result is what I can consume during the day. Makes life so much easier. We'll do that tomorrow. And throw in a bike ride.

Date: 2022-05-14 13:17 (UTC)If you take a look at how it works it could be a simple option to shift those last pounds. It really is easy when you get used to it.
Once again huge respect for Noom. It's just a little option from me !

Date: 2022-05-14 15:19 (UTC)What it really comes down to for me is logging. I do think fasting is for some people but not for me. Nor is super protein nor low carb or veggie this or keto that or whatever. Noom worked for me as it just made me think about things and log what I was doing. And now with Lose It I'm back to doing that. I'm probably going to dump the paid version after the trial as I just don't need all their complexity and goal setting. Just the tracking. Once I lose whatever I lose and get wherever I end up I'll stop tracking again unless/until I gain some of it back.
For me it is all about the 3000. If I eat 3000 calories less I lose a pound. If I do that over a one week period or a ten week period I still lose the pound. I'm patient and not desperate. I'm here for the duration.
Thanks for the thought. I do respect what works for other people.

Date: 2022-05-14 13:48 (UTC)I hope it works well for you.
I just realized yesterday, mine has narrower slice slots on one side, and thicker ones on the other, so I can choose the thickness of the bread. Even if I don't use the slicer like i'm supposed to, using only one of the bamboo guide grooves and inching the bread up as I cut, that's still a big improvement over how I was slicing on my own. I blame being left-handed but I know other lefties who manage it better than me :p
Hope that Lose It works well for you! I haven't heard of that one.
It is my hope and dream that someone will make a better calorie counter than MFP. The database is just such a mess and so difficult to navigate, there has got to be a better way but I haven't found anything else yet.

Date: 2022-05-14 15:22 (UTC)Take a look at the free version of Lose It. It is a lot cleaner and, so far, has a great database.

It looks really user-friendly but I wish there wasn't a paywall for so much of the functionality.
