Dana will be going to Tyler, TX tomorrow. Joseph's grandfather (Dana's original father in law) shot himself yesterday. He was in his 90s so there might be a good reason. No idea. This is Texas. Shots happen. Joseph's father shot himself a bunch of years ago so I'm pretty pissed at Grandfather no matter the reason. No matter what it was he needed to hang in to the end to prove to Joseph that suicide wasn't the way. Now Dana's son has his father and grandfather as role models. Assholes that they are.

Of course I don't say any of the above to anyone other than here. No one will ask my opinion and I'd just lower my head and say 'too bad'. But it is not too bad. It is the ultimate selfishness.
Dana will go up there. Thankfully I have the dogs as an excuse. I would not go to a funeral to hear what a great guy he was.
She'll likely be back come Sunday. She's got dog walking to do come Monday, I think. Her dog, Lucy, is back from four weeks in obedience school so that should be interesting. They should have sent Dana for a day or so. Hopefully she'll figure out how to do it. The best thing I ever did for Zoe was send her to obedience school. She has been the perfect dog ever since. It has made her life and our life so much better.
Other than all that things are good here. I fixed out rope light and learned how to do that. New skill. The rope is about $250 to replace the whole thing and now I know how to cut out a non working piece and resplice it together. Very nice thing to know. Should I ever need it I can make the rope last a lot longer.
And the Dog Ranch cleaned all day yesterday and today and will do so tomorrow. Spring cleaning. It is a really good idea. They pulled everything not permanently attached and cleaned and replaced and hydro blasted and put it all back together like new. It is a challenge to keep things looking good and healthy for over a hundred dogs who come with all kinds of diseases in addition to their age issues.

And this is Lily:

I can’t see medical assistance in dying coming to Texas any time soon, and maybe it wouldn’t have been an option for either of those men (we are required by the courts to come up with a way to include people with untreatable mental illness but so far haven’t figured out a law that opponents find acceptable). But gun deaths are just so messy and must be extra difficult for whoever is left behind.
