The oil change final report

So I went into an oil change place to get my oil changed and was told the oil plan plug was 'rounded'. Meaning that the previous person had used the wrong size wrench and stripped the plug. So I went to a real auto shop, turned out to be an excellent one, and had them fix whatever needed fixing. Then on to Discount Tire to have the two rear tires replaced.
Turns out that the oil plan plug was really more frozen a bit than stripped. They got it out. But there were other issues all of which were valid and expected in a car that has 86K miles. I had them all done. I have a new car now ready for another 80k.
Final cost with tires and all: $4497.03
We'll be a few months absorbing that blow but it is not crippling. We'll have to do something similar to Dana's car which has 125K or so on it. It is a Toyota Rav 4 and they pretty much last forever. My mileage gets eaten up by the twice a week trips to the Dog Ranch. Hers by occasional trips to Tyler. Hers is the long haul car.
We made a bunch of money on our Amazon card with its cash back feature. Every bit helps.
I was able to pay off the credit card as I do every Friday. Such a wonderful thing to be able to do. We'll lose some money on interest but none on credit card fees.
Meanwhile the Ranch has declared itself to be closed on Monday and Tuesday due to cold. They don't want anyone getting hurt trying to get out to the dogs. So I'll be hanging around here in the sub zero weather drinking hot chocolate.
Meanwhile, here is Nanner and me.
