bill_schubertOk, I got an email notifying me of my dental appointment next August. Good to have. Had the usual way to dump it to Google calendar.
Then, this morning, I got a text : Dear William,your next appointment with us is scheduled for 8/1/2024 at 2:00 PM. See you soon! G s Dental Studio
I'm thinking about just blocking their number in text so I'll only get emails which will cut down the noise by fifty percent.
As I was writing this I checked the email they sent and it had an opt out choice. I then sent 'Stop' to the phone number. And 'Yapi' said I'm unsubscribed.
So, oh my god, I'll have to remember myself.
Yapi is the company that provides 'a complete dental office communication platform'. What a great choice of name.
I'm hoping to have solved that particular life annoyance.
I received notification that my 'Senior' mutual distribution from USAA (I've been a member for 42 years or so) has been calculated. I get the distribution that all members get which amounted to about $150 this year. But due to my longevity I get the second bonus too. It makes my car insurance pretty damn reasonable.
Meanwhile, it looks like I'll have to pay $860 or so in taxes this year so the timing of the distribution is good. It is about $667 so things are not too painful. I've got all the info for taxes so will likely do them this weekend. USAA also provides a bit of a discount on Turbotax too.
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch:
This is Duchess. She's not been at the Ranch for long and was reportedly a fighting dog. She's got some scars that make me thing it is true. Turns out she also has leukemia and won't be around long. The end of her life is a good one. She is sweet and in a different world would have made a great house dog.
