But they are done. Now what?

Dana is heading up to see her aunt in Tyler. She'll probably be gone until Tuesday. She's leaving Toby behind. So it will be me and the bratty kids.

Nothing much on my calendar until the standard Tuesday at the ranch. Lots of vids to catch up on. There is so much that Dana can not watch that I really get backed up. And I've got half of Shogun to finish reading.

Now the sun is out I've got a great picture of the Lady Banks Roses:

There are still lots of buds so it will open even more. Making up for the lackluster 2023 season. On the other hand, there are almost no wildflowers out this year. So far. Maybe it is early.

I'm thinking a lot about my hip and waffling on my path forward.  Right now I'm leaning towards replacement.  Playing PB on it Wednesday felt OK but not great.  I didn't feel like it did any harm but my pain level is around 5 at best even after the cortisone.  It was worse after PB but rest brought it back. It was closer to 9 before the cortisone most of the time so it is definitely better.  But not something I want to tolerate for another fifteen or so years.  Heavy sigh.

Meanwhile, time to get back to Japan.

Are you reading the book and watching the show? I only just heard about the show but it sounds good. I remember enjoying the book when I read it many years ago. I have no recollection of watching the TV series. I was probably all snobby about a mini-series based on a book so read the book instead. Though looking up the date, it is entirely possible I was too busy with school and may not even had access to a TV (the joys of residence living).

Don't suffer too long.

I know to my bitter cost that a hip situation will only get worse. The longer you leave it the longer you suffer.
If you get it done asap you will hopefully have many more years to enjoy your life. Your doogs at home and at the ranch will thank you for being fit for them !

I had my right one done about 5 years ago. One thing i did that helped my quick recovery was to keep moving, doing hip exercises which was swinging my leg back and forth and sideways and lifting my lower body up and down in bed. Each one at least 20 times three or four times a day. Also using a cane helped towards the end.
Keep walking those fur babys and don't stop walking until the op. All good wishes for a speedy recovery.
