Such a beautiful day

We just got back from our walk and in the midst of one of this area's most beautiful days I could only think of how long it is until Juneteenth and hip surgery day. I'm at the place I was with my right hip before its surgery. I clearly remember using the shopping cart to help me walk when I went shopping and I'm very close to carrying a cane when I walk the dogs now.

So annoying.

I might just say screw it and go for a bike ride anyway. Fortunately that doesn't hurt as much as load bearing walking. I've got to go to see a Chase person and should burn off some steam first so I don't flame them.

The brief reign of the Lady Banks Roses is over for another year:



I guess it is kind of like the cherry blossoms. We had a good rain last night and I'll cut the grass tomorrow so the grass will be lovely and the rest of the plants will be blooming by next week. A few weeks of that before the sweltering heat kicks off. Get it while you can.

Toby went in for his annual physical. Seven years old and about the same weight as he has been since shortly after we got him. No further notes so I guess he's OK. All the shots and it added up to about $380. I'm sure we could work and get it done cheaper but there is something to be said for going to the same place each time, continuity of care. Anyway, he's doing well and not getting fat.  Good combination.

I'm off to figure out how to enjoy the day.

I know exactly how you are because like you i have had one hip replaced. My other one is showing "signs" so i am slightly nervous.
I will be following your progress. You are of course doing the right thing.The only option really for you because we know it doesn't disappear.

How sweet of you. I was really trying to avoid this hip. I've had right hip, left knee and left shoulder done. The knee was the least successful but the hip and shoulder were 100% successful. For some reason I got it in my head that I should not do the left hip. This was maybe a year ago when it first started bothering me. I'm usually pretty positive about such things but I had the idea in my head that I should try to go on without replacing it. The x-rays are not as bad as they were for the right one. But it hurts today just the same.

SO, I'm now looking forward to it. Which is really good. The right attitude. I did do a bike ride today and it was good so I'll do a lot more of them before mid June. Get my legs in as good a shape as I can. That's what I did with the right hip and it seemed to help.
