Everything went as well as it could. The nursing staff at the hospital was in top form and I had a better crew than last time. They were all on their game and everything went fine.

The hip hurts more than I remember but I shouldn't be surprised. I forget pain pretty quickly. Last time I had this done we lived in a house that was 3600 sqft and was two duplexes connected and I could walk one end to the other and get my steps in. Nothing like that here. Movement makes it hurt less and is obviously critical to keeping things moving. Getting up and down, in and out of bed is the worst. Once I'm up and moving it is OK.

Everything is where it should be Now is just the impatient time when I'm ready for it to move to the next level. It has been 2 DAYS and I still can't do jumping jacks.

This office chair I'm in right now is not as high as I'd like. The one I watch TV in is OK. I don't want to spend too much time in the bed. It's going to be a week or so of just being uncomfortable all the time.

Good drugs and enough of them to get me through so I'll make it.

For [personal profile] maisydaisy: NO compression socks! They had a inflatable leg cuff on my right leg in the hospital but it was not at all uncomfortable.

Another reason not to be in bed too much and to keep moving. Totally worth it if no compression socks.

Thanks for that Bill i would have asked you !
I was in no pain after my RTHR they managed it well. When you feel able, get out and walk a little a few times a day.The worst was having to sleep on my back.Do you have to do that ?
Wishing you a good recovery. So pleased it is all over for you.

Glad things are going well. As someone who has to wear compression socks almost all the time, I am completely with you on the compression socks.

Good to know it's still going well, even if unaccountably you're not up and at 'em quite yet. Hooray for no compression socks! I have vivid memories of wrestling them onto my grandmother after her hip op. It's hard enough to get them on yourself on your best day, let alone onto someone else who's in pain.

Did you have a Anterior or Posterior procedure and are there any restrictions ? Also is it all any different from the last one you had ?
In the UK i am hearing (not with my surgeon) that there are often no restrictions at all.I wouldn't risk that no matter what i was told.
