Good recovery

We went to see the dogs yesterday at the Ranch. Dana came with me. It was really hot (not where the dogs live in A/C splendor) and the walkways all around the Ranch are rocky and potentially treacherous, something I wanted to test. That part I passed with flying colors. It is amazing to me that I've got my balance and walking ease back so quickly but it seems so. We hung out with Khaleesi for a while. She's fine and was trying to dig a hole to China. I thought I'd play with her a bit and grabbed a thick tug of war kind of two foot rope. She grabbed it and, of course, pulled it out of my hands. And it was like I could see her mind click. Hey, I can put this rope in the hole. Which she did. And seemed very happy with herself that she could dig and still have the rope. We could never have her at the house. Wrong environment. She needs space and lots of it. But such a sweetheart.
After hanging out with a few more dogs including the 'littles' in the other house, we headed to the store on the way home. We walked around and picked up stuff at the store, then home. It was a lot. According to my counters I racked up 2700 steps yesterday. Soon as I got home I lay down on an ice pack and did nothing for about three hours. When I got up I realized I was still a bit tired and stiff but my hip felt looser.
So the magic continues. I'm going to take our dogs out for a short walk this morning and then take it easy for the rest of the day. Tomorrow morning I'm going to head out to the Ranch for the usual Tuesday morning activities but will only walk a few dogs. Big rest on Wednesday and then see how long I can last comfortably on Thursday at the Ranch.
I hurt less when I walk than I did before surgery and it gets better every day. All of this is so much more amazing at 70-ish. At 71 I'll be back on the pickleball court and on the bike.
Meanwhile my Ethereum experiment has been interesting. Glad I did it. Now with some faux skin in the game I am more aware of that part of the economy. I've lost nearly $50 of my $200 Prolific money so far. I think I kind of bought at the peak so not a huge surprise. I did a one chunk buy and have put the rest of my Prolific and Connect money into savings.
I'm not happy with what might happen in the stock market next January but I think my ownership is so damn conservative that it won't take much of a hit even if things really go south. I've got two more years before I have to take money out of my retirement but, really, I'm losing money in it now. It is stable which means it is losing to inflation no matter how low that inflation is. I've got to make 3% to break even.
I've been putting it off but will soon talk to my investment people (an algorithm actually manages my money) and propose syphoning some of my money into the APY 4%+ savings accounts that I have available. Or get an explanation of why it is a bad idea.
