I've got a doc visit follow up on the device put in my heart to prevent blood clots.  It is an office visit and I'm not sure why.  But it will be painless and its not like I've got to wedge it into my schedule.

It has been just over three weeks since my hip replacement.  I can now sleep on my right side and almost on my left.  That makes a huge difference in the quality of sleep.  The only real difficulty I have now other than just tiring easily and having a sore hip is that I can not yet reach my left foot.  I can't put on a sock or shoe (thanks heavens for Skechers).  So Dana needs to help me with my Hokas.  It will be really nice when I can do that myself.

I just got back from walking our two dogs around the block.  Tomorrow I'll likely take them on the longer walk down the crushed granite path that Zoe and I have walked for years.  I had to stop taking her as my hip was too painful and I might not be able to finish the walk but we'll at least go down there and walk half as far as I'm able (so I can return for the second half).  It will be very exciting for Zoe.  She loves the path and loves the routine and I've felt badly for not being able to do it for so long.

Other than that I'm wrapped up trying to end Wimbledon and the two soccer tournaments going on and peddling hard up the mountains in Le Tour and skipping through the first drafts of history that are flying all around with the election.

That last piece will only get more interesting next week.

If the newspaper is the first draft of history, what is social media?  I'm not a fan as it mostly seems to be the incoherent ramblings of self important, ill educated, junkies.  And I only see the part that has been elevated enough by others to come to my attention.

But this is the information front of the newest generation and just because I hate the format and, usually, the agenda and nearly always the presentation does not make it less impactful.  There are about 11 and a half million people in the US between the ages of 20 and 24 as of 1 July 2022.  And probably 90% of them are on social media.  And can vote.  There's your swing state.
