My day so far
Oct. 27th, 2025 07:36It's 7:40 and I'm sitting in a dentist's waiting room. I'm happy on the one hand to not be the recipient of their service and on the other to be less than thrilled to be sitting here listening to the hiss and gurgle of others who are the victims.
Dana is getting a molar extracted. They are going to anesthetize so fortunately she'll be sleeping through the worst of it. The rest of the day will just be going home and sleeping and eating soup and jello I think.
I've got nothing else scheduled in my job is just to take care of her and be sure she has plenty of the jello. But meanwhile I've got to hang out in this waiting room trying not to think about teeth extracted.
I got up at 5:30 this morning so I could take the dogs out before we left since I don't know for certain how long we'll be gone. So we went for a walk in the dark around the neighborhood before everybody else was up. The dogs are very confused but are probably sound asleep right now and you're particularly worried about getting teeth extracted.
This is actually a week for tooth extraction. On Thursday I'm taking Beaux to get his own tooth extraction. I don't think he gets jello when he's done though. Now I think about it. I probably do need to get him some soft food for a few days. He also gets anesthetized so he won't know what hit him.
Fortunately, my week does not involve any interaction with the medical establishment. My job is just to wait. And make jello.
