In my Google Voicemail (a number I created specifically for a volunteer job):

Form you that we will suspend your social security number because we found suspicious activity. So if you want to know more about the case, call us on 225-448-8358. I repeat. It's 254-428-3588. If you don't call back you will be arrested in next 48 hours.

We’ve been getting similar calls at my office...on ALL the numbers. Something about a federal offense and our failure to reply resulting in prison time. It’s a really scary voice. They’re easy for us to dismiss but it does make me worry about people who are less...confident in their clear consciences and administration. It’s such a horribly threatening call.

We used to see 'old people' get scammed all the time in my previous life as an IT support company. It really pissed me off. The victim is nearly always in a position to stop it but with the complexity of the tools required to maintain email and other communications very few people understand enough to stay out of trouble. But taking advantage of a demographic based on age is pretty low.

I probably should create a Google Voice number just for the fun of calling them back (we did something similar in the shop using a virtual PC just for entertainment).
