There was a half an inch last year then nothing for years previously. In 2006 there was a 10 or inch accumulation that shut everything down. So every five years or so on the average. Here and gone. Roads are melted and dry already in some places.
I've had a set of these rope lights for years. The first one lasted three or four years and outlined my business building. I replaced it but left the replacement behind when I left the building. Dana is phobic about snakes so I put this up. It is a commercial version and has a remote control so we can turn it on before going outside. Not cheap but really nice and should be good for a long time. Unfortunately I've also got an auto security light I accidently kicked off that washed out a lot of the niceness before I took that picture. I was ready for bed and didn't feel like waiting for the five minutes for the security light to reset.
But, yeah, having that light rope out there (and it is dimmable, too) is fun with the snow.
