Heart update et al
Apr. 13th, 2024 16:52I went to see the structural heart doc yesterday. He's the one that put in my watchman basket. I agreed to a CT scan now scheduled for the 29th the purpose of which is to be sure that the basket is positioned correctly blocking off the left atrial appendage. If this is the case then all is well. They were supposed to be able to check this a couple of weeks ago but could not get the camera down my throat. CT is try number to to verify.
But the failure of try number one now has me seeing a gastro doc to be sure nothing is wrong with my esophagus. More docs.
If the CT shows all is well I 'might' be able to have my hip surgery on time in mid June. There is a chance that I won't be able to cut off the blood thinner in time and having too thin blood is not a good idea with hip replacement. They want clotting. The heart doc may not want cutting. Apparently the European model would allow me to go off thinners but the American process may not. It will be close. Worst case is pushing off the hip replacement to August. I've got nothing on my schedule other than the day to day stuff.
Today was an annoying and strange morning. I cut the grass and then went to trim it with a trimmer I had bought two months ago. It was a crappy trimmer. I don't need much more than a scissors upgrade but this is worse. After screwing with it for half an hour trying to get it to work I gave up and put it in the trash. I would not foist that on anyone who buys from Goodwill.
So then I went to Lowes online and down a weird rabbit hole. I wanted to order one from them and then just go pick it up this afternoon. I found what I wanted and went to pay for it but the Lowes credit card was declined. It took me two hours to finally find out why. They had cancelled it for lack of use earlier this month and had not told me. The lady I finally talked to was apologetic but the weirdness was how hard it was to find that out. I went out to Synchrony who has both my Lowes and Google credit cards. I had to recover my user ID and then reset my password only to end up at my Google card. I had a chat with one of the weekend support people who could not figure out the question much less help. Then I called a support number and 90 minutes later when they called me back it became more clear. Synchrony kind of dropped the ball not cleaning up my Lowes account nor letting me know but I assume they just thought I was dead.
No matter. I got the same trimmer coming from Amazon for about $20 less and just have to wait for it. I'll get a new Lowes card if/when I buy something big from them. They are my go to for washer/dryer/refrig with lots of discounts and good delivery so eventually I'll use them.
