Wild flowers... finally

The rain has brought them out in numbers sufficient that I feel comfortable bringing home a few for Dana and Buddha.  It is difficult to get a really good picture without a bright sun to highlight the colors.  

This display lines the path all along our walk

But this variety is my favorite and they are just now coming out:

These guys have a prickly stem but last for a long time at home

This morning I finished Andy Weir's 'Hail Mary' book and, like 'The Martian' it is one that is full of wonder, some serious sciencing, and a lot of humanity.  A wonderful book.

Now I've got to find the next one to pick up.  Very difficult.
