Well, not true.  I can hear Zoe snoring behind me:

We both like the AC

We both like the AC

Dana is going to visit her son today, a four hour trip, and will return on Monday so a few days of being alone.  Not that it matters too much.  Things are pretty quiet regardless.

I've got nothing much planned today.  Think it is too late to cut the grass.  Not that the grass cares but when I can do it any day it seems kind of pointless to wait until it is hot to start.  So I'll likely do it when we get back from our walk tomorrow morning.

This is not an arduous assignment.  With my battery powered lawn mower and battery trimmer and blower it probably takes me less than 20 minutes.  And I doubt it really needs trimming this time so probably about 10 minutes total.  It is so nice to have a small yard.

Other than that and some cleaning and finally some French Open, Women's Semis on now.  Unfortunately I don't much care about anyone left in the draw.  One of the reasons I really want to see the first week so I can watch people I want to see.   I think Wimbledon will have more time on ESPN.  Looking forward to it.

What make of battery mower do you have, and do you find it has enough oomph to get through the grass? I've gone with another cabled electric, but didn't think to look at battery powered.

I've got a small yard and bought a Kobalt 40 Volt (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-40-volt-Max-Brushless-Lithium-Ion-Push-20-in-Cordless-Electric-Lawn-Mower/1000192623). It could probably cut a lawn three times the size of mine. One of the advances of current battery powered mowers that helps them last longer on a charge is that they are brushless. No idea what that means but what it does is adds power in response to resistance. So the mower will only use minimum power in thinner grass. If the grass gets thick it ramps up the power. You can hear it work. When the grass thins back down the mower slows down again. It is kind of brilliant. That and the fact that it folds into the size of the mower deck and can stand up against the wall that way taking up almost zero space sold me on it. I've had it a year now and love it.

The two women in the final of the French Open are unknown to me and I can't spell either of their names. When Coco Gauff went out in the quarters, I lost interest, though I am a fan of Sakaari, the Greek player, but she lost today.

In the Mens Final, I still hold out some hope that Tsisipas can beat out Nadal or Doko. (sp?)

Yeah, not too exciting after the Sakkari collapse. I'm kind of tired of watching Nadal but no doubt he'll win. Then on to Wimbledon. Hopefully it will be more interesting.

I hope so! I watched the Sakkari match when she had match point at 5-4 in the third set. It's going to take her a long time to get over that loss.
