Our new grocery store in April:

A month or so after land prep

And now, soon to open:

Top of the line store and surrounding shops

This is the first store designed after Covid.  On the right, just out of the picture, is a carport overhang where you pull in, like Sonic, to pick up your groceries.  No idea what the inside will look like but I'm definitely interested.  

It is a short bike ride or a long walk from our house.  Barely off the development property with no major roads to cross.  Could not be more convenient.  Two week count down.

Now, perhaps strangely, you've got me interested, too.

You folks have or had another grocery or supermarket within targeting distance, did or do you not? ---Or am I misremembering, and getting to your food purchasing 'place' was more of a trek?

Three excellent stores, same local chain — HEB — within 15 or 20 minutes. They are just far enough away to be annoying and always very crowded. This one is newer, located maybe 2 minutes by car, and won't be nearly as crowded for a while anyway. Plus we'll get to know it better and know when the best times are to go. But the biggest gain is we can run up and grab one thing. Just in time shopping!

When we visited Houston a couple of years back I was very impressed with HEB. That's not something I usually say about US grocery stores.

It is a good store. They do it pretty well and get lots of recognition for it.

We're way over on the west side of Georgetown. Ronald Regan. Nearly in Leander. We have a Liberty Hill elementary school in our development and pay Liberty Hill ISD taxes.

Million dollar question, did they put a bike rack in the front? I'm finding about 1 in 10 big box stores has it, usually in more ethnically diverse (read: poorer) neighborhoods where more people bike.

Yeah, I did think of that and don't yet know the answer. They don't want people around close enough to see. I might run up with my binoculars and check. My guess is they have one set of bike racks. HEB is pretty smart and there are so many people here who live close. If not, I'll figure out something as I do intend to ride up there. I've got the perfect bike for it.

I suspect they intend having one but just haven't put it in yet. It would kind of be in the way of other stuff going on. But thanks for the head's up. I had thought of it but forgotten to check.
