Much as I'd like to see family for Thanksgiving we're too spread out and I've not braved the Thanksgiving travel insanity for decades.  I sure would not consider flying.  So it is Dana and me and football.  And Zoe and Toby, of course.

We used to have a thing with Dana's family but they are mostly not speaking to each  other now and I don't miss it.  Same for Christmas.

I've got a prime rib for two to cook on Thursday.  Not sure what we'll have with it but it will be good.

So all is quiet here.  I had my therapy this morning and will again on Wednesday.  We've got two more weeks together (four visits after this week) and then I'm headed to the outpatient PT until I get it right.

My shoulder is doing fabulous.  I'm still a little constrained mostly by the deltoid muscle which seems to have taken the brunt of the surgery disruption.  I do my stretches a couple of times a day and some really gentle resistance training.  I go up to the point that I can feel a little stab of pain beginning then stop.  Such different than my knee.  Knee PT started where the pain was and kept going.  This is delicate work with the emphasis on not hurting the deltoid or rotator cuff.  Fine with me.  My range of motion gets a degree or two better every day.  My therapist mostly tells me to do less, don't push so hard, be careful.  So I'm careful and gentle.

I'm still a couple of months from riding any kind of road bike but I'm pretty sure I could took around on my trail bike.  But I'm not sure I can safely get it down from its hook so maybe that's the requirement.  When I can take it down I'm allowed to ride.  I'll wait for the outpatient therapist to talk to me about it.

Meanwhile Zoe and I walk every day and my weight continues to go down little by little so I'm breaking even.

Glad to hear you are doing well! We are not traveling for Thanksgiving either. It's been decades since we flew on a holiday, but this year, my father-in-law will still be in the rehab hospital so not a great time to visit, and I really can't leave my parents alone overnight just yet, so it will be the four of us, but my dad still can't really eat, unfortunately.

Would you please share your prime rib recipe? My husband was just talking about trying to learn to make one, since my parents love it. We're hoping my dad gets to the point of being able to eat it again.

I'm thankful this season that your progress is so good and you can have a Thanksgiving free of shoulder pain!
