Thanks to anais_pf I've got a solution to my cabinet problems.  It did not involve nearly the sawdust, hammering, wood purchase, more wood purchase after I screw up the first piece, cursing, etc.  

It cost less and looks very nice.  And took me about an hour.

I put a light behind the sliding rack so it can be seen

Now I just have to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my day I was going to spend driving back and forth to Home Depot.

Is that a pot lid holder-order-keeper thing? On glider-rails so it can be pulled out for easy access?
I've been trying for decades, literally, to get himself to do that with a portion of one of our kitchen cabinets.

No. Just for the shot. Not needed. It rolls out to make the boards available. This way does look pretty though.

Ooh, I like it! Shipping to NZ is $48, alas, but maybe I can find something similar. Last time I was in the US I got one from Amazon that fits over a cupboard door and that's pretty nifty, but I have a really heavy wood one I use every day that's too heavy for that.
