Noom has a thing for whole wheat bread.  They like it better than any other.  Since I don't eat white bread (I like more complex flavors) it is not much of an issue for me.  But Dana is having dental problems so the stuff I most like, 12 grain and bulgur wheat, are off the table for the moment.  Too crunchy.  So I made a couple of 100% whole grain loaves last night.  Been a while.  I nearly always make crunchy bread.  But this is good.  Lots of flavor:

The other loaf is already sliced with a piece being toasted atm

I'm normally not satisfied with anything I bake but this is pretty close to just right.

The year Dana and I first lived in Florida, 1996, I remember drinking Margaritas on the patio of a Mexican restaurant on Christmas Eve.  We had a good time talking to the servers.  They had to be there anyway for another hour so we all had fun joking around.  It was 76 (24) degrees and sunny.

This Friday's high in Georgetown is 79.  The Christmas is 84.  Sydney NSW where they are having summer now (aren't they?) it will be 82.

Yule log, my ass.  We'll have the A/C cranked up and I may have to get a margarita just on general principal.  Once every 25 years can't hurt.

If you'd prefer to keep it alcohol-free, I can highly recommend this Virgin Margarita recipe: https://www.food.com/recipe/virgin-margarita-433547

In Perth, Australia, my home city, it's supposed to be about 99F on Christmas Eve and 107F on Christmas Day. I'm glad I'm not there.

Yeah, I picked Sydney as I was writing. It was the first Aussie city that came to mind. I'd forgotten that Perth would be hotter, upside down as things are there.

I wish you relief from both.

Thank you! It was 80.6 here on Christmas Day, which is cooler than a lot of places but still too hot for me. We basically spent the day on the deck under the sun umbrella. A cocktail with plentiful ice may have been consumed.

Good for you. So nice to have a non-drama day. We're just getting started here but it will be the same. Quiet and calm.
