According to susandennis research there are 300 of these knitting bomb bollards.  Here are a couple of my favorites:

As far as you can see

I could have turned around and shot a picture of the same thing behind me, bollards as far as you can see covered in crochet.  

My guess is this knit shop has students who create them.  There is a big variety in quality and design.  Some are amazingly artistic, some I would have done if I could crochet.

But the weather is perfect, the sand is find and the beach is nearly empty.

Just another day in paradise.
