Well, we've crossed a milestone

Our house listing on Zillow just went over half a million dollars up 4.2% in the last 30 days. Were we to sell it we'd clear as much as $170,000 on a house we've owned less than four years.

Insane Austin housing market.

I could buy a really nice tent for that.

Or you could move to a place where it rains! 😀 Which would be practically anywhere in the Northeast.

Yeah, that would be a logical conclusion. Maybe one day. I spent a lot of time thinking about Seattle and were I by myself might move there. But moving the two of us (and the dogs) is a lot more difficult and I'm not up for that right now.

But always worth thinking of.

That is absolutely insane. Nice if you are selling, I guess, and don’t need to buy anything new. I imagine it will be brutal on house taxes though.

Fortunately to they have a law here that holds the annual increase to 10%. So I'm paying $60 per month more into escrow. The insurance will kill me when it comes around.
