It has gotten serious

bill_schubertI've created a domain name and opened a Google Workspace and set up a lawyer and looked at some training (yes, there is training AND certification to be a pool boy). We've got a bit of a quiet spell while one of the four partners goes to Israel (he's LDS and it's on his list). The target is probably getting very organized in the fall and be ready for the spring openings.
The other three selected (and I abstained) Kind Pool Cleaning (.com) as the company name. They will make it work. Logo to follow and likely to have my Smart Car wrapped again.
I've volunteered to honcho things and be the initial Operations Manager in exchange for reduced initial down payment into the partnership and a salary. I've needed something to put my teeth into and what needs to be done is all the stuff I like doing. All the crap I hate will be done by the others.
We've got four seasoned entrepreneurs doing what each of us had to figure out what to do on our own. We've been meeting on a monthly basis for 3+ years now and know each other pretty well.
Tyson, one of the three, at one point when we were talking about recouping investments emphatically said: "Hey, we are going to make money here.". He is an expert in service based companies. One of the others is an expert in relationship networking and sales and the third is a bookkeeper. And then there is me. I'm the one with time. Can't buy that.
We're going to overpay the first employee and set him up to profit share when he gets there. He's going to start out with a net and end up with a desk and a phone, groomed to manage and, if we decide to flip the company, to own it.
Until he works his way up to being able to do it I'm going to do a lot of the management, the organizing, the wrangling, and, likely the initial estimating.
It will be nice to have some money coming in, nice to be involved with four amazing business people, nice to pad the retirement if/when I ever manage to figure out how to retire.
I'm going to go ride my bicycle now.
