The Bell Ringers

bill_schubertI listen to books on my bike rides. I'm currently in the last third of The Bell Ringers by Henry Porter (https://www.amazon.com/Bell-Ringers-Novel-Henry-Porter/dp/0802145264). Written in 2011 it has the sound of not 1984 but maybe 1974 or so.. the beginning of the big brother conspiracy. So much of it has already come to pass with cameras everywhere and drones being used by law informcement and intelligence groups.
Knowing nothing about it before I started listening I actually almost dumped it early on. But it has gotten better and is stimulating my paranoia which might be a good thing right now.
My mother once told me that she did not want to be around for what she saw coming in my lifetime. I know how she felt. It it going to be a rough century, I'm afraid.
