I'm interested to know what their litmus test is for "liberals."

Everything I hear about the state of Texas (aside from you, of course) reinforces my personal policy: "Stay the hell out of Texas."

Yeah, I hardly ever comment or have any interaction that might end up in a political discussion. Because I'm a retired Naval Officer I get a pass on a lot of stuff. Everyone who doesn't know me assumes I was in Vietnam and am therefore borderline dangerous. I see that as a positive. I'm in a protected class in Texas.

The state is more purple than ever, though. The idiots who make the most noise are the MAGATEX people and the religious zealots (our governor fits both categories). But the people who show up at the ballot box are increasingly blue.

But, really, there is nowhere in the U.S. to hide anymore. I just keep my head down and mind my own business. And parodically write my congressman to ensure he knows that I think he has devolved from an honorable man when I first moved here to being a scum sucking sycophant of Trump. So far he doesn't seem to take me very seriously.

All the poor people they want gone from their new country are the ones actually doing the grunt work. That's WHY they're poor. Because the current state government doesn't think that they should be paid a living wage. How do you double your GDP if all your wealthy people won't work?

No federal funds for schools, roads, airports ...any kind of infrastructure ... Military bases will move to other states ... What a mess if that was to happen!
