It has long been my contention that Science Fiction (or more accurately Speculative Fiction) is the front page of history's newspaper.  Only a matter of time.  So far just about everything I've read within the bounds of earth has come true.  From  CChester Gould (Dick Tracy) to Jules Verne s to Isaac Assimov I can point to so much of their far fetched ideas that we use as common place today.  And all the doom based SF seems to start with comic laden idiots in charge like:

Trump doubled down in a Truth Social post this morning, suggesting that the only necessary check on AI development would be Trump himself. “The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!”

The first chapter of future history's book is nearly written.

Two things drive him. The first is that he reacts to whatever is in front of him and someone put it there. And, since he is personally so dishonest, he thinks everyone else is dishonest and only out for themselves so he reacts that way. And, of course, it is never ever ever his fault (Roy Cohn taught him that). So having AI on the front page is great for him. So important and I'm the only one that can solve the problem. Pay no attention to the war(s), to gas prices, inflation, criminal investigations. Just AI and I'm the AI messiah.

Standard crap. To be expected.

The only positive is that the dems will take over Congress and tie him and his people up in so many court cases and investigations that they won't have time to make things worse.
