The end of the world will come with significantly less fanfare than this two day spot of cold weather.  I'd list all the ways I've been informed but War and Peace has already set the standard for length of composition and I don't want to fiddle.  But a summary:

At the bottom of my screen I've got an exclamation point.  I don't need to look to know that Microsoft is warning me.

We have signs in the neighborhood telling us to drip our water and I've got an explanation in my my news feed of why I need to do this in Texas at a little below freezing when I did not in Maine during the -20 (-28) degrees two week stretch we had when I lived there (Texas water piping is near the surface).

I've got Atmos, of course, my gas supplier telling me everything is fine but set my house at 68 (20) degrees or below.  Already done long ago.

I've got PEC, our electric coop, telling me everything is fine and we'll likely have enough power.

I've got our governor who has basically done nothing but jabber since last year and ensured that no significant improvement was undertaken to the power grid while he's in charge.  TEXAS DOESN'T NEED IMPROVEMENT.  IT IS ALREADY PERFECT!

I've got Spectrum telling me it's going to be freezing but we're here for you.

And maybe a thousand TV news and weather channels.

And, of course, Alexa has told me twice.

The entire state is suffering from PTSD.  We MIGHT get snow.  It MIGHT get icy.  It will be chilly for a day.

I need some prayer hands here.

I've posted a picture of Shadow before but we were out and about yesterday and I got one.  I thought it worthy.

I haven't cut into it yet but I think this one will be OK:
