The daily limp

Zoe is my trainer.  She is relentless.  She bugs me in the mornings but for Tuesday and Thursday when I go to the Ranch.  She comes up to me repeatedly and just stares.  Eventually I get her and Toby and we go for our mile and a half limp.  It is on a trail where I can, for the most part, let them run off leash.  Zoe is always off leash but she is perfect.  Toby is too friendly so if there might be other dogs around I keep him under control.

We limp around the lake and back.  It is up and down hill.  Down and up stairs.  And painful for every step.  I'd never do it on my own.  I would atrophy here in the house until surgery.  But Zoe ensures that I'll get to surgery with some muscle mass.  All she wants is to run down the trail but in making me go she gives me a lot more. 

Dana had her nerve burn on Wednesday.  The local anesthetic wears off and day two is bad, which it was.  She also had one in her social circle commit suicide so she was not having a fun day yesterday.   But it should be a bit better each day from her on out until a week or so when the nerve will have completely died and she will be mostly pain free.  Like me she'll have to work some to get her gait back.  But she's got a good PT person to help.

In other medical news I'm no longer on Eliquis.  The structural cardiologist that put in my watchman device transitioned me to Plavix.  They are similar in effect but different in the way they do it.  I'm embarrassed to say I don't know why the transition but I don't think I'll be on Plavix for long.  I think he's going to take me off that and just leave the baby aspirin sometime in late July or August.  That was the ultimate goal and everything seems good to reach that.

I asked him about getting off for long enough to do surgery in June and he said I could drop the Plavix for a week as long as I could continue the baby aspirin through the surgery.  Ortho agreed.  The wound won't heal as quickly but I'm so tired of this hip issue that I'll live with that.

If nothing else gets in the way I'm only 40 days out from surgery.  That seems like so long when I schedule my events based on how many times I need to get in and out of the car.

But at least it is looking good that by September I should be 85% or so back.  

Well, this will be interesting

Our five year old Samsung washing machine has gotten worse and worse.  The spin cycle just bangs and locks up.  It happens more and more with lighter and lighter loads.  So, online.

Turns out you can replace the rods that the basket sits on.  The rods are attached to springs like the suspension of a car.  No shocks, but springs.  The springs get weaker over time.  A new set of rods and springs cost $42 at Amazon.  

Now to dissemble and reassemble my washer.  There is a video of a guy doing it with my exact model and he's kind of a goober fiddling around figuring it out.  The rods come Sunday so I've got stuff to do.
