Things are getting back to normal here.  I just heard the trash truck pick up my neighbor's trash (they have a different service, for some reason).  Ours gets picked up on Monday.

It is now above freezing headed a high nearing 45 (7) degrees so we'll be going for a walk later today.  Nothing else much needs doing.

Deliveries are resuming.  I've got Freshly food on the way.

Report on Freshly:

Pro — it arrives all cooked, ready for the microwave.  The food is pretty good.  The selection is from about 50 choices and they add/subtract 7 or so every week so it is pretty easy to have weekly standbys and then something new.  In fact they roll over what you ordered the week before unless you stop it.  One of the big advantages is that with two people you can get different things.

Con — it is frozen food so is not quiet as good as cooking it from scratch

The numbers per dinner (meaning a meal for one.. all but Freshly come with food for two):

Dinnerly — $6.90

Home Chef — $11.35

Hello Fresh — $11.24

Freshly — $9.40

The price is a little hard to nail down with Freshly.  It changes the more you order.  We ordered 8 meals (four night's worth) and the price went down to the $9.40.  It works out to about the same as getting something similar at HEB that is fresh.

Current plan is to keep up what I'm doing.  Rotating among the choices.  Dinnerly is way cheaper but the quality of the meat shows.  Home Chef and Hello Fresh prove you get what you pay for.  Their meat is better and they have higher quality choices and packaging.

I eat more vegetables and really like having everything in one package whether I make it or just heat it.  And we hardly every get food from a restaurant.  Better for money and calories.

There's a decent discount (of course) I can send you if you ever want to try it for a week. We had Golden oven-fried chicken and mash (meh), steak peppercorn (ok) and sausage baked penne last week. The penne had too many other veggies. That is the one thing I didn't say but should have. The Freshly is oriented to healthy. Lots of veggies. I've got some coming this week that have potential. Will report.

Good to know about the discount but I just looked again this morning and there are just way too many unidentified vegetables. I need Preservely — heavy on meat and potatoes and light on healthy anything.

I never heard of Cowboy Bebop before it appeared on my Netflix. So it is all a revelation to me.

Gotcha. The live version is a remake of the anime version which came out in the late 90s.
If you end up liking the live action I'd highly recommend the anime.

Never even looked to see anything about the anime version. It's on Netflix so I'm starting it now. Thanks. I would not have tried it.

Also, ordered some sesame beef and egg rolls from Woks it 2 You to help set the scene!

Oh yes, the anime version is the original. All the music used in the live action version came from the anime, it's a fantastic soundtrack (I mean the story is good too haha but the soundtrack makes it truly a masterpiece.)

Enjoy the Chinese with your Japanese, haha!
